SNMP on Windows and CentOS 7

Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) is a internet standard protocol, that allows us to read and write information from a device.

In this case we will only use the reading feature to monitor the devices.

SNMP on Windows and Linux operating systems is not by default installed and active, on active network equipment depends on the manufacturer.
